WOMEN MUSICIANS SHINE AT SXSW IN THREE "GOGIRLS" SHOWCASES FEATURING TALENT FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY

GoGirlsMusic.com, a thriving online support network for indie women artists founded by Madalyn Sklar in 1996, will be hosting three talent packed showcases on March 14th and 15th during the South by Southwest Convention (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Two of the showcases, titled "Invasion of the GoGirls," take place at Trophy's Bar and Grill and Le Privilege and feature several out of state and local GoGirls bands and acoustic artists. The third showcase is a "Network Night" and will be held at Graffiti's Bar and Grille. With over 20 acts scheduled, musicians can mingle with other GoGirls, hear great acoustic music and win door prizes from sponsors GoGirlsMusic.com, Disc Makers, On-The-I.com, PowerGig, Musicians Atlas, Vreeland Graphics and more.

On March 14th, the "Invasion of the GoGirls Showcase I" takes place from 8 pm - 1 am and features: THE LOCALS, an eclectic acoustic rock band from Chicago; CAROL PLUNK, singer/guitarist from Memphis; SUSAN ROBKIN, an award winning pop/rock vocalist from Seattle; SHADE, a mesmerizing modern rock/pop band from Austin; and, VERA TAKES THE CAKE, a rhythmically intoxicating band from Austin. Trophy's Bar and Grill is located at 2008 S. Congress Ave. and can be reached at (512) 447-0969. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 with a SXSW wristband and FREE with a SWSW badge.

On March 15th, "Invasion of the GoGirls Showcase II" takes place from 12 noon - 4 pm and features music on the patio by SHADE, SUSAN ROBKIN, THE LOCALS, CAROL PLUNK and others. Le Privilege is at 912 Red River, (512) 476-4441. FREE admission.

Also on March 15th from 6pm - 12 midnight is the First Annual GoGirls "2 song night" at Grafitti's Bar & Grille, 2401 Howard Lane, (512) 255-8003. FREE admission.
