For the past 4 years, Kelly Z has used her music to raise awareness about hepatitis c in her hometown of Los Angeles and around the country. After losing a close friend to the disease, Kelly decided she needed to get the word out about hep c and help erase the stigma that is attached to it. She has worked with GoGirlsMusic on many levels but raising hep c awareness has been the most important thing to come out of this partnership. "Working with GoGirlsMusic has helped to get this info out to a lot of people" says Kelly Z, "Madalyn and her organization has helped me do more than I ever thought I could". Just this year, Kelly Z started a coalition of artists to raise awareness of hepatitis c through an educational postcard campaign. Each artist involved in the national coalition will have these postcards available at their shows. GoGirlsMusic also sponsored "Hep C Aware", the internet telethon that Kelly Z produced.
