GoGirlsMusic.com Prepares to Invade Annual South by Southwest Music Festival and Conference

Houston, TX…GoGirlsMusic.com, the oldest and most popular website for women in music, will continue their tradition of highlighting the best in independent women musicians at its 4th Annual "Invasion of the GoGirls," taking place March 18-20 during the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival and conference.

The five "unofficial" showcase invasions that weekend will feature over 40 bands and performers in total. "We worked very hard to create a lineup that was stylistically exciting yet appealing to a diverse crowd," explains Madalyn Sklar, founder of GoGirlsMusic.com. "We fully expect to see an electrifying blend of industry people, musicians and the general public at our event," continues Sklar.

This year marks the first time event organizers will augment musical offerings with a keynote speaker and several "Do It Yourself" panel discussions. On Friday, March 19, nearly twenty musicians and industry personnel will share their knowledge and experiences as they discuss the art of promotion, touring and making a living as a full-time performer as an independent musician.

"We are thrilled to announce that attendees will also have the opportunity to hear Gigi Greco as our keynote speaker," enthused Sklar.

Greco's career in the entertainment industry includes a wide range of talents from marketing and publicity for the major and independent labels, to writing short films for PBS to producing a weekly television program currently running in syndication, as well as directing and producing award winning music videos.

Since 1996, GoGirlsMusic.com has dedicated itself to bringing together independent women musicians from around the country. Eight years later, GoGirlsMusic.com has become a welcome destination for women in music through networking and events.
